Adventures in Diving Course

The Adventures in Diving Course (commonly known as Advanced Openwater) is designed to further enhance your diving skills by exposing you to various specialized dives. The course involves 5 dives that can be completed in 2 to 3 days. At the completion of this course you will receive your Advanced Openwater Certification. There is 1 night of class instruction at the store and then you will be ready to complete your dives. The Adventures in Diving course is a hands on class that is taught in the field during the dives. You have two options for completing your dives.

The first option is to spend 1 day at the quarry and 2 days doing ocean dives. At the quarry you will cover Navigation and Search and Recovery. In the ocean you will do the required Deep Dive and 2 additional dives. These could be Wreck, Boat, Night, Drysuit, Photo or others you'll find listed in your Adventures in Diving Manual. The class fee covers all 3 days of diving and the instructor fees.

The second option is to complete all your dives over the course of a weekend at Dutch Springs Quarry. With this option your dives will most likely be Deep, Navigation, Search and Recovery, Wreck and Night, but some other options are available. The class fee covers all these dives and the instructor fees. With this option you will still have two days of Ocean Boat dives available to use as you wish, these dives will not include an instructor. You do have the option to have an instructor on these dives at an additional fee of $50 each day.

Course cost: $395.00 includes Quarry, Boat and Instructor fees

Required Equipment: Adventures in Diving Manual, Mask, Fins, Snorkel & Weight Belt, Basic Scuba Equipment*, Slate, Light, Knife, Lift Bag, Compass, Jersey upline or Wreck Reel & Pony Bottle System*

Required Equipment for elective dives:

Photography: Camera and Slate

Night: Backup Light/Chemical Light Stick

Wreck: Wreck Reel, Slate, Backup Light and Knife

Multilevel/Computer: Slate and Computer*

Drysuit: Drysuit* and Underwear*, ($125 extra, includes pool session, Drysuit rental for 1 day, and Drysuit Certification)
